Hair extensions are everywhere. They’re known for their versatility and durability. They’re widely used by many women these days, including celebrities. And more than any other hair styling tool, hair dryer to straight hair extensions are the perfect choice for busy women. Unfortunately, not all hair extensions are created equal. Some hair extensions are low quality, don’t stay in place or weigh your head down after long hours.
1: Brush your hair
Most people’s hair is a little bit wavy, and wavy hair is a little bit on the ugly side. But if you brush your hair for a few minutes first, it will be straight enough to look good. It is a little bit of work, but not that much.
You need to brush your hair before you do anything else to it. If you have just washed your hair, it won’t be as easy to brush as it would be if your hair were dry. If you want to do something with your hair right away, just quickly run a brush through it.
2: Dry your hair
Dry your hair before you comb or brush it. If you have a diffuser on your blow-dryer, use it — this will get the water out from under the hair and speed up the process. If you don’t, let your hair air-dry for a while before you try to comb it out. The less water that’s in there, the easier it will be to work with.
Don’t comb your hair while it’s wet. It will only make things worse by pulling and tugging at the tangles. If you absolutely can’t resist, a wide-toothed comb is preferable to a brush.
Use a wide-toothed comb or a paddle brush on dry hair to make things easier on yourself.
Comb gently, but firmly. Start at the bottom of the sections and work upwards, running the comb carefully through without yanking on anything. It helps to hold onto the ends of the strands as you do this, pulling them gently but firmly downward to straighten them out as they pass under the teeth of the comb or brush. This works best if you’re holding onto one end of each strand; if not, both ends may slip out of your fingers as you pull down on one end.
3: Spray some water on your hair
You can straighten your hair extensions or wigs with a flat iron; however, this method is only effective if you use the right heat setting. If you set it too low, your hair will not get heated enough to straighten.
If you want to straighten your hair extensions with a flat iron, make sure that the temperature is set between 350 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray some water on the underside of your hair where you want to straighten it and then apply it with a flat iron.
Consider using a thermal spray in addition to water in order to seal in moisture and prevent breakage. This is especially important when you use a higher setting than 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
